Most book distributors cater for ebooks. The problem is, each one has its own standards and requirements. I find the easiest way of getting maximum coverage is to use two firms, Kindle and http://www.smashwords.com. See http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=124976730885968 and .

I found a reference to Nook requiring .epub files. These are based on html files so again they're good start.

There is software such as  Calibre to convert one format to another. Atlantis is a wordprocessor that creates .epub files but it is Windows only.

As a Linux user Sigil seems to work fine. It did throw up error messages concerning language but it is easily cured. Go to Edit -> Meta Editor and enter the title. Firefox has an .epub reader add on. The 64 bit version of build 0.5.3 froze on save

As an experiment there are two books you can download.

The Girl's Night Out
Odds and Ends

It would be useful to know if you can download them and display them on your device.
